2018 Santa Skate

Last year's Santa Skate at the Nobleton Arena was enjoyed by many kids and adults once again. It included free skating, hot dogs, hot chocolate, candy and of course a visit with Santa


2018 Community Fundraising Ticket Draw Top Winner


The Nobleton Lions annual fundraising ticket draw was held on Saturday October 27, 2018 at the Nobleton Library Gazebo. Here Lion Bob Phillips presents the top winner Tara Inman the 1st place prize of $4000 (Ticket #571). The 2nd place prize of $750 went to Jim Castator (Ticket #104), while the 3rd place winner Sherry Lukow (Ticket #630) received $250. The proceeds of over $12,000 will support more than 20 community organizations and community improvement projects like the new playground and pavilion at the Nobleton Lions Community Park.

2018 Visit to Lions Camp Dorset

On September 15 several Lions and their wives visited Lions Camp Dorset for its 40th anniversary open house. The camp offers a unique vacation opportunity for dialysis patients and their families.

Lion Ken Hodgson Passed Away May 29, 2018

It was with great sadness that we announced the passing of Lion Ken Hodgson, pictured here being honoured on his 95th birthday last November by District Governor Surinder Sharma. He was a dedicated member of the Nobleton Lions Club for over 50 years and served a term as President. He will be greatly missed by his community and by his fellow Lions. 2018 Dog Guide Walk

On May 27 almost 20 walkers and their furry friends joined Bev Berger and her Dog Guide Lotus (pictured) in walking to raise funds for Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides, whose mission is to assist Canadians with a medical or physical disability by providing them a Dog Guide. Dog Guides are provided at no cost to eligible Canadians, despite the $25,000 expense it takes to raise, train, and place each one. This year about $8300 was raised in the Nobleton Dog Walk.

Lions Support Nobleton Lions Community Park Upgrade

The Club presented a cheque for $25,000 to King Township as its contribution for the new picnic pavilion at the newly renamed park. The Lions made the presentation to Mayor Steve Pellegrini and counillors at the Victoria Day 2018 celebrations.

2018 Pancake Supper

Several hundred guests, like those pictured here, enjoyed a delicious pancake supper, including ham and sausages, at the Old Community Hall on Shrove Tuesday 2018. Winner of the 50/50 draw was Eric Gray. Special thanks go to Lion Tony Peters, the event coordinator (who may not have served his last sausage,) and Lions Doug, Olaf, and Bob, sweating in the kitchen, and all the rest of the Lions on deck. Proceeds of the night will be donated to the Nobleton Skating Club.


Donation for Autism

Susan Shaw of Autism Ontario York Region Chapter was presented with a donation at a January 2018 meeting of the club by Vice-President Rick Evans and President Rick Zuzek. She described the latest government initiatives to help people with autism as well as some of the remaining gaps in services for them.

Lions Supported "Sleeping Children Around the World"

In 2017 the club's donation of $1050 to Sleeping Children Around the World was able to provide 30 bedkits to school-age children in Tanzania. Each kit consisted of a mattress, mosquito net, pillowcase, bedsheet, T-shirt, school shirt, shorts, sandals, backpack, exercise books, pencils, pens, and fabric for a school uniform.

Annual Golf Fundraiser

The 2017 Lions Golf Tournament was held at the Nobleton Lakes Golf Club on June 4, in a break in the rain just in time for the golfing. It was a great success again this year as 144 golfers participated and over $20,000 was raised in support of mainly local community organizations. Thanks go to over 65 corporate and private sponsors, and especially to Lion Latif Kassam for his hard work in organizing the event.

2017 Walk for Dog Guides

On May 28, local residents and their dogs walked in support of the annual Walk for Dog Guides which raises funds for the Lions Foundation of Canada (LFC) initiative to train and place dog guides for people with visual or other physical disabilities. It is spearheaded in Nobleton by resident Bev Berger and Lion Jim McDonald. This year over $9000 was raised for this worthwhile cause. For more information about how you can donate...

2017 Special Olympics

Earlier this year, Lion Gary MacDonald of the Huttonville Lions Club spoke about the upcoming Special Olympics in July to be held in Peel Region. More information is available at

Santa and his helper Elf welcomed over 100 kids who also enjoyed skating, hot dogs, and drinks.

2016 Clothing Drive - November 5

Thank you community for supporting the annual clothing drive in support of the Salvation Army. Contributions filled an even larger truck this year.

Annual Ticket Draw - October 26

Over $12,000 was raised in support of more than 20 community organizations. Lions Joe and Olaf sold the most tickets again this year.

2016 Annual Golf Tournament

On June 5, 144 golfers played a friendly round of golf and along with added guests enjoyed a delicious dinner at Nobleton Lakes Golf Club. There were many winners of door prizes, ticket draws, and auction bids. Thanks to the hard work of the many volunteers, contributions of donors, and the financial support of sponsors and participants, over $20,000 was raised for community organizations.

2016 Dog Guide Walk

Lasts year's event on May 29 was very well supported with proceeds of over $11,400. Many thanks to Bev Berger for helping to organize this event in cooperation with Purina and the Nobleton Lions Club.

Appreciation for No Frills Support

At our March 7 meeting, Lions Joe and Manny thanked John Ciarallo, Nadia Arton, and Eric Sousa of Nobleton No Frills for their ongoing generous support of the many Lions outreach events in the community.

2016 Annual Pancake Supper

Over 200 people enjoyed a delicious pancake supper of pancakes, sausages, syrup, ham, salad, rolls, and beverages at the Old Community Hall on February 9. The Lions wish to thank John of No Frills in Nobleton who kindly donated many of the supplies.

The winner of the 50/50 draw was Sase Ramkhelawan. Aside from the $295 prize to the winner, the remaining proceeds are going to the Nobleton Figure Skating Club.

2015 Children's Christmas Party in Nobleton

The Nobleton Lions Club once again welcomed our neighbourhood families to the annual free skating party at the Nobleton Arena on December 12 where they enjoyed free hot dogs and drinks, a visit with Santa, and a free treat bag from Elf Bob.

The Nobleton Lions would like to thank the community for your support all year.


2015 Seniors Dinner

Over 125 Nobleton seniors enjoyed a delicious beef dinner, caroling by the Guides, Brownies, and Sparks, and some good old-fashioned fiddling by the Nobleton Old-Tyme Fiddlers at the Nobleton Arena on December 7.


New Benches in Nobleton Installed in November 2015

There are now two benches installed at the Nobleton Plaza to give some of our seniors a chance to sit and rest awhile during their shopping at the mall. Joe Tasca was the key Lion that ran the project for purchasing the benches, getting approval from the mall owner, and arranging for their installation.
